Westbrook out for Sunday
The Philadelphia Eagles released their Week 14 injury report this afternoon, and the news isn’t good for running back Brian Westbrook.
The Eagles have listed Westbrook as out for Sunday night’s game at New York against the Giants. This will be the fourth straight game Westbrook has been held out of the lineup and seventh overall. He missed Philadelphia's Week 3 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs due to an ankle injury.
Rookie LeSean McCoy will get the start for the Eagles.
Westbrook, an eight-year veteran out of Villanova, suffered a concussion in Week 7 against the Washington Redskins which forced him out of action for two weeks. When he returned to the field in Week 9 against the Chargers, Westbrook suffered another concussion after carrying the ball just six times for 28 yards.
On the season, B-West has rushed for only 225 yards on 47 carries with just one rushing touchdown.
In addition to Westbrook, wide receivers Kevin Curtis (knee) and Jeremy Maclin (foot) are listed as questionable.
Wide receiver DeSean Jackson (concussion), linebacker Akeem Jordan (knee) and tight end Brent Celek (thumb) are all listed as probable.
The Eagles take on the Giants in New York on Sunday night at 8:20pm eastern.
