Will Time of Possession be the deciding factor?
MIAMI, Fla-The one statistic that several people are talking about in the press box at Sun Life Stadium tonight is time of possession.
The Indianapolis Colts had the ball for 10:29 in the first quarter and outscored the New Orleans Saints 10-0.
The Saints answered back in the second quarter, controlling the clock for 12:56 and outscoring the Colts 6-0.
During the 2009 regular season, the Saints went 10-1 when winning the T.O.P. battle (1-0 in the playoffs). Meanwhile, Peyton Manning and the Colts went 9-2 during the regular season when losing the T.O.P. battle.
Just something to keep in mind as this baby heads down the stretch.
Side Note: Does anyone else think that Colts running back Joseph Addai is running harder than ever tonight?
