Williams, Bengals nearing deal

As a ten-year NFL veteran, Bobbie Williams brings something very important to the offensive line.

Durability.

Since arriving in Cincinnati in 2004, Williams has started 93 of 96 regular season games for the Bengals.

Now that he’s an unrestricted free agent, the defending AFC North champs are doing their best to keep Williams from taking his durability elsewhere.

Per Carlos “Big C” Holmes of the Middletown Journal, Williams and the Bengals are close to reaching an agreement that could keep the offensive guard in Cincinnati for the remainder of his career.

The 6’4”, 345-pound Williams turns 34-years-old in September. However, he was an important member of a Cincinnati offensive line that paved the way for the NFL’s ninth-best rushing attack in 2009 (128.5 yds/gm).
