Williams will be a game-time decision
Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams missed his second-consecutive practice on Thursday and will be a game-time decision in Week 8 at St. Louis, per Steve Reed of Carolina Growl.com.
Williams suffered a sprained foot during the fourth quarter of the Panthers’ 23-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday.
While this situation is bad news for Williams owners, it’s great news for those of you that have been stashing Jonathan Stewart. If Williams is unable to play, Stewart will get the start on Sunday at St. Louis.
Per Reed, J-Stew is averaging 150.3 rushing yards per game in his three career starts.
With six teams on the bye this weekend, those of you in RB trouble should be hitting the waiver wire to see if Stewart is available.
The Rams currently rank 15th in the NFL in run defense (108.1 yds/gm).
