Calvin Pryor, Jace Amaro banged up at Jets camp

Safety Calvin Pryor and tight end Jace Amaro haven't had the starts they anticipated to have at Jets training camp.

According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, Pryor, the Jets' top pick this past May, was involved in a collision during a special teams drill, which caused a head injury. He sat out of Sunday's practice as a result, after it was determined he did in fact sustain a concussion, according to the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta.

Then on Sunday, the organization's second pick in the 2014 class, Amaro, injured his right knee in practice and was forced to the sideline. After being unable to place much weight on his knee, Amaro was carted off the field.

This is a bad, bad sign for two rookies that are expected to contribute this year. The Jets will have to hope Pryor's head injury isn't anything that will have long lasting effects and that Amaro's knee injury didn't do any structural damage.

Follow me on Twitter: @JasonHButt
