Colts have an interest in Spagnuolo

When the St. Louis Rams moved on from head coach Steve Spagnuolo, it was very much expected that he'd have plenty of league interest as a defensive coordinator. That has most certainly been the case thus far.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Indianapolis Colts interviewed Spagnuolo on Monday. Oddly, Jim Caldwell--who was fired Tuesday--was involved in the interview.

Tuesday, in the press conference announcing the firing of Caldwell, Colts general manager Ryan Grigson confirmed that Spagnuolo did indeed interview for the team's defensive coordinator position on Monday.

With the Atlanta Falcons hiring Mike Nolan as defensive coordinator Tuesday, there is one less player in the "Spags Sweepstakes." The remaining candidates for Steve Spagnuolo's services are now believed to be the New Orleans Saints, the Philadelphia Eagles, and of course, the Colts.

Spagnuolo is arguably the most sought after assistant coach available this offseason.
