Fred Jackson signs contract extension

<p> Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson has been a workhorse, whether as the go-to starter or as a fill-in for early-2013 starter C.J. Spiller.</p> <p> As a result, the Bills don't want Jackson heading into free agency next offseason. To prevent that from happening, they announced they've signed Jackson to a contract extension. is reporting that the deal is for one year and is worth <a href="">$2.6 million, with the potential of an additional $1 million in incentives</a>.</p> <p> Jackson began his pro football career in indoor leagues before getting competing for the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe. In 2006 he signed with the Bills and has slowly made a name for himself from there.</p> <p> The Division III Coe College product 1,062 yards and two touchdowns in 2009, his third year with the Bills and has been a steady runner since.
