Patriots add a fullback
According to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe, the New England Patriots have signed former Miami Dolphins fullback Lousaka Polite.
Offensive guard Dan Thomas had been taking some reps at fullback as of late, but with Logan Mankins set to miss the season finale due to an MCL sprain, Thomas was needed back on the interior of the offensive line.
In order to make room for the former undrafted fullback from Pittsburgh, the Patriots once again waived Ross Ventrone, a defensive back who's primarily been a special teams contributor.
Although he spent the preseason with Miami, Polite has not appeared in a regular season game since last season.
In his seven-year career, the 30-year-old blocker has played in 75 games.
