49ers add offensive quality control coach
The San Francisco 49ers have hired Michael Christianson and given him a title that’s considerably longer than his name.
He is the team’s new coordinator of football information technology/offensive quality control coach. Try fitting that on one line of a business card.
He’s worked since 2007 as a field technician and football product specialist for XOS Digital, a company that serves NFL and NCAA teams. He worked under 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh as a tight ends coach at the University of San Diego in 2006.
Previously, he worked in football technology for Nebraska. He was also a quality control coach for the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they won the Super Bowl. The short of it: Christianson will be the computer guy for Harbaugh.
