49ers cut Braylon Edwards
The San Francisco 49ers, perhaps in a move to eliminate any possible distractions as they prepare for the postseason, have released Braylon Edwards.
The veteran wide receiver broke the news on his Twitter account this morning.
“I was released today by the 49ers due to my injury that required more time to rehab and hasn’t allowed me to re-sync with the offense....,” Edwards wrote on his Twitter account.
Edwards had knee surgery earlier this season but 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh indicated that Edwards was inactive recently because of performance issues. There will not be any more of those with Edwards headed out the door in Week 17.
