49ers, Kaepernick to restart contract talks

The San Francisco 49ers are resuming contract talks with quarterback Colin Kaepernick this week, according to the Sacramento Bee.

The 49ers negotiated with Kaepernick's agents during the NFL scouting combine in February.

Talks had been on hold while Kaepernick was investigated in Miami, but that is reportedly coming to a close and the 49ers don't seem concerned about any legal complications arising.

"I feel very good there'll be a good resolution, and hopefully a just one, too,” 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said in April. “I hate to see his reputation be the victim."

The contract, when it's done, is expected to be lucrative, perhaps as much as $18 million annually.
