49ers release LaMichael James
The 49ers didn't seem to have plans for running back LaMichael James in 2014.
And as a result, he asked for his release after Sunday's season-opening win against Dallas. The organization decided to go ahead with the request.
"@LaMichaelJames appreciates the @49ers for granting him his release request & allowing him to pursue his career elsewhere," James' agent Jeff Sperbeck tweeted.
James saw only two carries against the Cowboys and has only totaled 184 yards the previous two seasons. It's clear that with a backfield consisting of Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde, carries would be hard to come by in San Francisco.
