49ers sign Desmond Bishop to one-year deal

The San Francisco 49ers re-signed inside linebacker Desmond Bishop to a one-year contract. Bishop played for the 49ers last season, appearing in two games and recording two tackles. He was previously with the Arizona Cardinals last season. He was with the Minnesota Vikings before tearing his anterior cruciate ligament. Bishop began his career with the Green Bay Packers and played five seasons. He started two years and had 100 tackles those seasons and had eight sacks. The 49ers needed linebacker depth after Patrick Willis and Chris Borland unexpectedly retired this offseason.
