49ers sign Jerome Simpson to two-year deal
TheĀ San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Jerome Simpson to a two-year deal.
Simpson was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round in 2008. He has played in 57 games and has 145 career receptions for 2,004 yards and eight touchdowns.
Simpson set a career high with 726 receiving yards on 48 receptions and one touchdown in 2013 with the Minnesota Vikings.
Simpson attended Coastal Carolina University, where he played in 45 games and registered 161 receptions for 2,720 yards and 44 touchdowns. He was named the Big South Freshman of the Year in 2004, and set Big South single-season records in 2006 with 1,077 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.
