49ers tender three potential restricted free agents
The San Francisco 49ers announced that the club has extended restricted free agent tenders to three players: linebacker Manny Lawson, safety Dashon Goldson and defensive end Ray McDonald.
Lawson, a former first-round draft pick, will in all likelihood become an unrestricted free agent. He has five years of league service but as the teams are doing with the uncertainty of the labor situation, they’re tagging players short of six years service.
The 49ers also extended a tender to exclusive right free agent C.J. Spillman, a safety.
