49ers trade Parys Haralson to the Saints

The San Francisco 49ers have traded veteran outside linebacker Parys Haralson to the New Orleans Saints.

He's slated to replace starting outside linebacker Will Smith, who's out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

“He was a good mentor, taught me a lot and best of luck to him in New Orleans,” 49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith told San Francisco reporters.

Haralson was sidelined all of last season with a torn triceps but started the previous season.
