Aaron Donald could be taken earlier than many expect

Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald has gotten mixed reviews during the draft season.

Some have him pegged as a mid-rounder. Others have him in the top 10. One team in particular has expressed a great deal of interest in Donald, and that's the Minnesota Vikings. If Donald is available with the eighth overall pick, there's a considerable chance the Vikings take him.

But could a scenario exist where Donald's gone by then?

According to a league source, the Raiders have graded Donald high enough to where if the situation calls for it, they'll be willing to take him with the fifth overall selection. That scenario involves both Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans being off the board within the first four picks.

Donald is a fast, agile defensive tackle with a great swim move. Slightly undersized, he makes up for it with his speed, quickness and strength.

This draft has the makings of being one of the most busy and unpredictable in years. Donald in the top five would certainly qualify as an early surprise if the draft plays out that way early on.
