Aaron Hernandez assigned October court date in murder case

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been assigned a court date of Oct. 6 in his murder trial.

Hernandez is accused of orchestrating the murder of semipro football player Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez's lawyers are challenging evidence in one of his pair of murder cases, arguing that probable cause wasn't established when his house was searched.

Hernandez also pleaded not guilty to an allegation of attacking a handcuffed inmate and threatening to murder a guard and his family in February in jail.

He is also accused of shooting and killing two men in Boston. He has pleaded not guilty in every case.

"You can't throw a bunch of stuff at the wall," lawyer James Sultan said. "That's not probable cause."

Hernandez remains in jail without bail.
