Aaron Hernandez seeks jail transfer
Former New England Patriot star and accused murderer Aaron Hernandez is unhappy with his conditions and has requested a jail transfer.
His lawyers filed a transfer request, citing personal safety issues and a need for proximity to his lawyers in Boston.
The lawyers noted a lack of privacy to communicate with his lawyers.
They also accused Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson, who runs the jail, of exploiting Hernandez's presence for "self promotion and virtually nonstop publicity."
Hodgson has already responded, calling the comments "outrageous."
"He's not being treated any different than any person in that place," Hodgson said. "I'm very comfortable with our practices. We are nationally accredited."
Accused of killing three men, Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
