Adams entices Manning with contract 'for life'
How badly does 89-year-old Bud Adams want Peyton Manning to be his quarterback?
Badly enough that he told Houston TV station KHOU Channel 11 he has offered Manning a contract "for life," with the opportunity to be a part of the Tennessee Titans organization once his playing days are through.
This is really a follow through on what Adams had said in his initial public pitch for Manning to the Tennessean newspaper in Nashville on Sunday, but the fact that Adams has now apparently made the offer to Manning shows the seriousness of his tone.
Manning has long been rumored to perhaps want to transition into being a front office executive once his playing days are finished, and Adams is publicly affording him that opportunity if he wants it.
As to whether such a move would be a violation of the CBA or anything like that, that will have to be determined.
