Adams on board with Locker as starting QB
Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams has long wanted a Super Bowl victory and has waited patiently through a number of standout quarterbacks from Dan Pastorini to Warren Moon to Steve McNair, only to come up short.
Now that the Jake Locker Era is apparently a go in Tennessee, Adams is on board with the choice.
"I’m excited about it. I think this kid is going to be a good one. We drafted him a couple of years ago (to be our quarterback)," Adams said in an exclusive interview with TitanInsider.
Locker is the choice ahead of veteran Matt Hasselbeck, who threw for more than 3,500 yards last season, his first with the Titans. Hasselbeck was brought in in part to mentor Locker, and that process apparently starts now.
“The other guy (Hasselbeck) is a good one too, but he’s starting to get a little age on him,” said Adams of Hasselbeck, who turns 37 next month. “He came in and played well for us last year, but Locker did too when he came in off the bench. I’m looking forward to him playing.”
