Adrian Peterson hurt
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson left Saturday’s game against the Washington Redskins early in the third quarter with a knee injury. Peterson took a hit to the knee from Redskins safety DeJon Gomes. He left the field with the help of trainers putting no weight on his left leg. He is out for the game.
The Redskins held Peterson to 23 yards and 10 carries in the first half. He had 12 carries for 38 yards when he left the game. He also had a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Peterson came into Saturday’s game rushing.
Peterson returned to action last week after recovering from an ankle injury.
Update: ESPN reporting Peterson will have an MRI on his knee late Saturday.
