Agent expresses confidence in Muhammad Wilkerson's recovery

The agent for New York Jets franchise player Muhammad Wilkerson issued an update on the star defensive end's healthy. “Barring any major setbacks with rehab, Mo Wilkerson will indeed be playing for someone at beginning of 2016 NFL season!" agent Chad Wiestling wrote on Twitter. Wilkerson is recovering well from a broken leg. Wilkerson posted a video Friday of himself waking on a treadmill. “No crutches, no boot! Gr8 to be on Alter G in compression sock & sneakers. Staying ahead of schedule; coming back better than ever.” Wilkerson's status with the Jets as far as a new contract remains unresolved. The Jets have until July 15 to sign him to a new deal. Otherwise, he'll play this season under a $15.7 million franchise tender. Or a trade could be worked out. Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan said the team isn't actively seeking a trade.
