Ahman Green finds a suitor in the CFL
Ahman Green believes he has some gas left in the tank. That’s a good thing. It’s going to require some gas to get him where he’s going.
The former Green Bay Packers running back, now 34, will play in the Canadian Football League this coming season for the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Green, a college star at Nebraska, played for Omaha in the UFL this past fall.
Green is now five years removed from his last 1,000-yard season. He rushed for 1,059 yards and five touchdowns in 2006. The all-time leading rusher for the Packers, Green appeared in eight games in 2009 when injuries had wiped out the depth chart. He recently spent two ineffective seasons with the Houston Texans.
If a lockout in the NFL carries deep into fall, maybe the CFL will be where it’s at.
