A.J. Green hoping toe allows him to play
The Cincinnati Bengals have been fortunate enough to have receiver A.J. Green available for nearly every game of his career.
Since he was drafted in 2011, Green has only missed one game, a midseason contest against the Ravens during his rookie season. After sustaining a toe injury this past week against Atlanta, Green's status is in doubt for this week's game against Tennessee.
Green, however, is remaining hopeful that he'll be able to play.
"If it's feeling good, then I'm going to go," Green said, via ESPN.com. "If it's not, then we'll go from there."
Green is definitely a dangerous threat for the Bengals and came down with a huge catch in Cincinnati's Week 1 game against Baltimore. But Mohamed Sanu stepped in admirably when Green went out last week. He finished with three catches for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons.
Tennessee definitely has a better defense than Atlanta's so Green's availability will be important for the Bengals. But Sanu did show he's capable of being a quality first option if needed.
