A.J. Green likely out this week
Not only is Bengals receiver A.J. Green likely out this week, but his toe injury could keep him sidelined for multiple weeks.
Appearing on Sirius XM NFL Radio, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was asked whether Green had turf toe or not. Lewis revealed that the toe injury may even be more than just turf toe. A turf toe injury generally can keep a player out for a two-to-four week period. That doesn't bode well for Green.
The NFL Network is also reporting that after meeting with a foot specialist, Green will probably not play this week against the Panthers.
Green has played through a toe injury this season but reaggravated it in practice on Wednesday. As a result he had to be carted off of the field.
For the season, Green has 17 catches for 314 yards and two touchdowns. If Green does in fact sit out, Mohamed Sanu and Brandon Tate will be Cincinnati's top two targets. Marvin Jones will also factor in once he returns from his own foot injury.
