Al Harris: The road to recovery Part X
Week 11 brings a momentary scare to Packers cornerback Al Harris.
At the start of a back-pedal drill, Harris suddenly slips and falls, then pounds the turf in pain. Are we seeing a setback?
It looks like it, but Harris – getting better every week after surgery to repair a badly injured left knee – comes back and tells his trainer, Joe Caraccio of the Atlantic Rehabilitation Center in Miami, that he’s OK.
“I think it was just the initial shock from me (falling),” he says.
Back to work, it’s clear that Harris’ overall condition is improving. As Caraccio notes, his speed has increased, his ability to rotate his hips is better and his performance in stutter-step drills is impressive.
Best of all, he’s no longer favoring his left leg.
