Alfonzo Dennard admits violating probation

New England Patriots starting cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has acknowledged violating his probation in July, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Dennard admitted drinking prior to being arrested, but still faces an Oct. 8 court date on the charge.

Dennard is still on probation, facing a Dec. 5 sentencing date.

Dennard has claimed that he wasn't able to blow hard enough for a Breathalyzer reading. Law enforcement authorities aren't buying that claim, saying it was intentional.

Dennard was given probation and convicted of a felony for hitting a police officer prior to the NFL draft last year.
