Alfonzo Dennard starts jail sentence

New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has begun serving his two-month jail sentence stemming from an assault two years ago on a Nebraska police officer, according to the Associated Press.

Dennard reported to the jail in Lincoln today, per the report.

Dennard has to serve at least 35 days.

He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, community service and two years probation, but a judge increased the jail time after Dennard was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving.

That case has been disposed of via a plea bargain.
