All Day: 'I got the sense (Favre) was coming back'
If Adrian Peterson can ready body language better than he can hold onto the football, Brett Favre will be back with the Minnesota Vikings.
That’s because the Vikings running back saw it in the quarterback’s eyes when they crossed paths at the ESPYs, or that’s what he thought he saw anyway.
“I saw him down in L.A. for the first time this offseason, down at the ESPYs,” Peterson told the Oklahoman. “Looking in his eyes, I got the sense he was coming back. I'll be going down to his house, telling him, ‘Favre, I need you back.'
“I grew up watching Favre. I'm as big a fan of his as the people that's watching him. People in Green Bay that's been watching him all his life. Just to have the opportunity to play with him and come up short, it would definitely feel good (if he came back) this year (and we) hoisted up that trophy (together) in Dallas, Texas (the site of Super Bowl XLV).”
We haven’t heard from anyone who doesn’t believe Favre is returning but until he announces he is, and until he is scooped up at the airport by Brad Childress and driven to the team’s facility, there is going to be some doubt. Maybe with that doubt existing, Peterson needs to go knock on Favre’s door a la Childress.
