All is well with report on Beanie Wells' ribs
The Arizona Cardinals survived a real injury scare when a CT scan revealed that running back Beanie Wells is only sore after suffering a blow to the ribs during practice.
“He just got hit on the ribs, and that’s football,” coach Ken Whisenhunt told Darren Urban of the team’s Web site.
Whisenhunt said Wells was running a little too high and Hamza Abdullah was in good position to make a hit, not the kind of hit teams want taken on their running backs in training camp, though. Wels was carted off the field after the play and was wincing in pain.
“He probably just wasn’t ready for the hit, and I didn’t go into it. My intentions weren’t to hit him and definitely not to hurt him,” Abdullah said. “Prayers go to him and hopefully he is OK.”
So Wells should be ready to roll in a few days.
