Always busy Seahawks have some more moves to make
The always active Seattle Seahawks are at it again.
The team made a pair of roster moves this afternoon in preparation for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants at Qwest Field. Most notably, they promoted rookie quarterback Zac Robinson from the practice squad so he can serve as the backup to starter Charlie Whitehurst with Matt Hasselbeck sidelined with a concussion.
Seattle also promoted offensive tackle Breno Giacomini from the practice squad. The team released wide receiver Ruvell Martin and offensive lineman Chris Center, who were signed earlier this week.
Martin was signed for depth with the team’s corps of wide receivers banged up. It’s possible he will not be needed after all. Giacomini figures to be a swing tackle for Sunday’s game with injuries plaguing the team’s offensive line again this season.
