Anonymous Jet calls Tebow 'terrible'
An anonymous teammate of New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow said the team's backup was "terrible," according to the New York Daily News.
The player quoted was named only as a "defensive starter," as a number of Jets were asked about Tebow. Most were anonymous in their assessment, but guard Matt Slauson said Mark Sanchez is by far the best quarterback on the team, despite his many problems this season.
“It’s not even close,” Slauson said. “All the other quarterbacks know it. I have all the confidence in Mark. We don’t really have a choice.”
Other Jets were asked about Tebow as a possible starter and one replied with a question of his own, "Do I have to answer that question?"
Coach Rex Ryan called the player who said Tebow was terrible, "cowardly" in defending the quarterback.
However farther south the Jets season slips - they are already 3-6 and nearly out of any playoff talk - it is clear that they don't believe Tebow is the answer. The problem is, Sanchez doesn't appear to be either.
