Another QB turns heads in Jets camp

Move over, Mark Sanchez. Take note, Tim Tebow.

For the two New York Jets quarterbacks who have gotten virtually all of the attention in New York Jets camp, another quarterback was able to shine when he got a chance in the teams' green and white scrimmage.

Matt Simms was impressive in his work during the scrimmage, according to the New York Post. He only threw two passes, completing both, but one was a nice 31-yard TD pass to Raymond Webber on the final play of the day.

If Simms' last name sounds familiar, it is because he is the son of former New York Giants great Phil Simms, and the brother of Chris Simms, who played for the Bucs, Titans and Broncos.

Matt Simms, an undrafted rookie from Tennessee, is a long shot to make the roster behind Sanchez, Tebow and Greg McElroy, but he enjoyed his moment in the sun on Saturday night.

“I’m here at camp, so everything’s good,” he said. “Everyone wants to be drafted, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out like that, so [I’m] just going to take advantage of my opportunity.”
