Antonio Cromartie joins Cardinals
Former New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie is joining the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced.
It's a one-year contract.
"It's about to be trouble, trouble, trouble," Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson wrote on Twitter.
Cromartie was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2006 before dealing him to the Jets after four seasons. Cromartie has spent the past four seasons with the Jets, where he recorded 13 interceptions and 52 pass deflections.
In all eight seasons, Cromartie has 28 interceptions and 94 pass deflections.
"Cro is one of the finest athletes I’ve ever coached," Jets coach Rex Ryan said in a statement when Cromartie was released. "He was willing to contribute wherever the team needed him to win games, be it defense, special teams or offense. He has a passion and enthusiasm for the game and I wish him and his family the best.”
