Antrel Rolle doesn't back down from his comments
Antrel Rolle came out with some pointed comments after the New York Giants were, well, rolled on Sunday in Indianapolis by the Colts.
He didn’t like the way the coaches went about some of their business, and he seemed to take aim at the leadership or maybe the lack there of in the locker room. For a newcomer with a big contract, he didn’t tow the company line, that is fore sure.
And when Rolle was asked about those comments today, he didn’t make any half-hearted effort to take back what was said.
“I’m not a confrontational guy. I just felt it needed to be said,” Rolle said, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. “Maybe my sources of who I broadcasted it to was wrong. I told Coach (Tom) Coughlin that. But what was said has been said.”
Rolle and Coughlin have met and the belief is with an open line of communication that things have been cleared up.
“Other guys around here, just because it’s not being said doesn’t mean they don’t feel that way,” Rolle said when asked about arriving at Lucas Oil Stadium three hours before the game. “And I was relaying that message on behalf of the team. I was expressing what I felt, but it was also a relayed message on behalf of the team.”
Consider it relayed. Now, Rolle better make certain he’s on top of his game.
