Antrel Rolle: 'Our schedule needs to worry about us'

The New York Giants hold a two-game lead on the remainder of the field in the NFC East with a 5-2 record as the rest of the division is clustered at 3-4.

It’s a good place to be for the Giants, who have been through as many injuries or more than just about any other team in the NFL. New York escaped last Sunday with a 20-17 victory over the winless Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium, but the schedule is cranking up.

The Philadelphia Eagles, picked by many to win the division, have finally won consecutive games. It’s worth noting the Giants looked well positioned in early December last season before a collapse that was highlighted by a crushing loss to the Eagles.

The Giants play at New England and at San Francisco in the next two weeks. Here is a look at their schedule after that:

Nov. 20 Philadelphia
Nov. 28 at New Orleans
Dec. 4 Green Bay
Dec. 11 at Dallas
Dec. 18 Washington
Dec. 24 at N.Y. Jets
Jan. 1 Dallas

Sure, the Giants don’t have to hop on an airplane after the Dec. 11 trip to Dallas, but that is not an easy schedule ahead. Still, at least one player isn’t fazed.

“I don’t worry about our schedule, I feel like our schedule needs to worry about us,” cornerback Antrel Rolle said. “That is my approach and the way I look at it and how I am always going to look at it.”

There you go. The Giants are going to take it head on.
