Archie: Peyton would prefer to stay in Indy
Archie Manning took timeout from his son Eli's exploits in leading the New York Giants past the Green Bay Packers to talk a little bit about his other quarterback son's future with the Indianapolis Colts.
Archie Manning told the New York Post on Sunday that Peyton Manning, "“Peyton kind of likes his roots in Indy. We’ll see what happens there. If that doesn’t work and he can get healthy we’ll see. That’ll all work out. He’s just trying to get healthy.”
The Colts, of course, have the first overall pick in the NFL Draft and will likely use it on Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. Before that, the Colts have to make their decision on whether or not to pay Peyton Manning's roster bonus of $28 million or cut him and move in the direction of rebuilding the franchise that sank to 2-14 without Manning, who missed all of last season with a neck injury.
