Arena League to play exhibitions in China

The Arena Football League has announced plans to play two exhibition games in China in 2013 as well as a training program with an eye on a six-team league in that country by 2014.

"We are very excited about this opportunity," said AFL Global CEO Martin E. Judge, Jr., who together with ex-NFL quarterback and current broadcaster Ron Jaworski founded AFL Global in 2012. "The Chinese market is huge. Our hope is to introduce an official six-team professional league that will begin regular season play in the Fall of 2014."

It is anticipated that 40-60 Chinese athletic coaches and officials from cities throughout China will attend the training sessions in May 2013. Following the training, AFL Global will focus on producing two AFL
exhibition games in China this Fall. The first game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12 in Beijing followed by a second, one week later on Oct, 19, in Guangzhou.
