Baas signs tender with 49ers
Left guard David Baas signed his tender as a restricted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers today.
Baas had been working out with the club even though he had not yet signed the tender, but made it official today as it became evident he (along with nearly all of the other RFA’s) was not going to receive an offer sheet.
The 49ers tendered Baas, a former second-round draft pick, at the low level. That means his compensation this season will be $1.226 million. It also signaled they are not necessarily sold on him being a longterm answer. With two picks in the first round, San Francisco is expected to use at least one to address the line.
