Bears going with Jimmy Clausen as backup, Jordan Palmer cut

The Chicago Bears are going with Jimmy Clausen as their backup quarterback.

Jordan Palmer was released on Sunday.

Clausen has completed 24 of 37 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns, one interception and a 94.4 passer rating in three preseason games. Meanwhile, Palmer completed 21 of 30 passes for 225 yards with one touchdown, one interception.

Clausen previously played for the Carolina Panthers, but missed all of last season with a shoulder injury.
