Bears hire Dave Ragone as quarterbacks coach

Former Houston Texans quarterback Dave Ragone will be coaching Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler next season. Ragone was named the Bears quarterbacks coach Friday. Ragone was the offensive quality control coach in Washington last season. Ragone worked with Bears offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains previously with the Tennessee Titans. Ragone coached receivers and quarterbacks for the Titans from 2011 to 2013. Ragone played for the Texans from 2003 to 2005 after playing collegiately at Louisville. He was a third-round draft pick who started twice behind starter David Carr, passing for 135 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in two career games. Ragone was named NFL Europe Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2005 while playing for the Berlin Thunder.
