Bears promote quarterback David Fales

The Chicago Bears have decided to go with three quarterbacks for the final three weeks of the 2014 season.

The Bears announced that they've promoted rookie quarterback David Fales to the 53-man roster, which seems like somewhat of a strange move this late in the year. But Jay Cutler has had by far the worst season of his NFL career and this move could have been made to give the rookie some game experience.

Chicago's second-string quarterback is Jimmy Clausen and there's a good chance he could get some reps with the way Cutler has performed. And Fales could wind up in the same boat as the final three games are essentially meaningless for the Bears.

It could be a good time to give some younger players chances on the field they weren't getting earlier in the season.
