Bears rookie linebacker Jon Bostic fined $21,000

Chicago Bears rookie linebacker Jon Bostic was fined $21,000 for his hit on San Diego Chargers wide receiver Mike Willie.

Bears linebacker Lance Briggs was critical of the fine on Twitter.

The fine was assessed for Bostic lowering his helmet and hitting a defenseless receiver.

The NFL actually highlighted the hit from the former University of Florida standout on its official website.

However, the league office deemed it to be illegal.
