Bears rookie Major Wright fined $10,000
The Chicago Bears paid a price when Major Wright’s roughing the passer penalty wiped out an interception by Brian Urlacher in the fourth quarter of Monday’s victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
Wright, a rookie safety from Florida, paid a bigger price when he was fined by the NFL. The first-time offender received a $10,000 fine for leading with his helmet in the hit he made on Joe Webb, according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.
“Why not?” Wright said when asked if he would appeal. “What do I have to lose?”
Well, there’s 10 grand at stake if he’s worried about that.
