Bears safety Chris Harris will try to play with torn hip muscle
CHICAGO--Bears safety Chris Harris has a torn muscle in his hip but is expected to try to play in the NFC Championship Game.
Harris is listed as questionable for the game and practiced on a limited basis on Friday after missing the two previous days. He’s considered a key part of the team’s pass defense, and if he cannot play he will be replaced by rookie third-round draft pick Major Wright.
Harris is expected to receive a pain shot before warmups and test out the injury. He was hurt during the first quarter of the team’s divisional round playoff victory over the Seattle Seahawks last week. It’s a matter of pain tolerance for Harris because he cannot make the injury worse by playing with it.
Inactives and lineup changes are due to be submitted 90 minutes before the 3 p.m. kickoff.
