Bears sign Eddie Royal to three-year deal

The Chicago Bears have signed wide receiver Eddie Royal to a three-year contract. Royal has 388 career receptions for 3,570 yards and 25 touchdowns in seven NFL seasons. He played every game last season for the Chargers. He caught 22 passes on third down to lead the team. The Bears traded wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the New York Jets. With the Denver Broncos in 2008 and catching passes from Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, Royal caught 91 passes that year for 980 yards and five touchdowns. Royal is a former second-round pick.
