Bears signing Jarvis Jenkins

The Chicago Bears are signing former Washington Redskins defensive end Jarvis Jenkins to a one-year contract, according to a league source. Jenkins played for the Redskins for the past three seasons. Jenkins played collegiately at Clemson. He was a second-round draft pick. Jenkins, 26, started 14 games last season. He had a career-high 28 tackles last season. He had two sacks in three seasons. Jenkins had a torn anterior cruciate ligament as a rookie. He tore an ACL as a rookie and missed all of 2011 after starring in training camp.
