Bears swapping out cornerbacks

Zack Bowman lost his starting cornerback job with the Chicago Bears after the first meeting with the Green Bay Packers last season.

Now, Tim Jennings has lost that job before the Bears face the Packers for a second time this season as the coaching staff has decided to shake it up in the secondary.

Jennings had a blown coverage against the Seahawks Ben Obomanu at the start of the third quarter last Sunday, putting Seattle on track for a big second half. It wasn’t just that play. After a solid first half of the season, Jennings hasn’t been as dependable of late.

I've had a week to soak it in,'' Jennings told Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune. “This says a lot to me. It let's me know how they feel about things. But this is good place for me. Playing here works to my strengths. (I have played) some of (my) best football (here).”

Jennings will be an unrestricted free agent after the season as will Bowman. The Bears will have to make a decision about what they want to do opposite Charles Tillman.

"After watching some film, I missed some opportunities,'' Jennings said. "I've been in good position, just didn't make plays. If I would have made those plays, we wouldn't be having this conversation.''
