Bengals claim they were better than Ravens
At least two members of the Cincinnati Bengals said they felt they were a better team than the Baltimore Ravens, despite losing 31-24 to fall into third place in the AFC North.
Tight end Jermaine Gresham said he believed the Bengals were better than both the Ravens and Steelers, the two teams Cincinnati has lost to inside the division in consecutive weeks, while linebacker Rey Maualuga believed the Bengals were better than Baltimore.
"In my mind, we’re better than those teams,” Cincinnati tight end Jermaine Gresham told the Baltimore Sun. “They’re great teams and everything, but I think big mistakes killed ourselves in some areas, and we just have to get better.”
Added Maualuga, "“We fought back and did what we could, but we still have this sour taste in our mouths because we felt that we were the better team."
The Bengals will get another chance to prove themselves as they still have rematches with both the Ravens and Steelers left on the schedule, games that could go a long way toward determining whether Cincinnati reaches the postseason or not.
